No one has lit a candle here in years. The chimney still smokes every night.
The bridgeway passage
Everyone uses it as a shortcut. No one agrees on what they saw there last winter.
The old watch
Its roof was patched after something fell — or was thrown. Ask three villagers, get three different answers.
The miller's rest
The porch light comes on at the same hour every night. No one living there can explain why.
Something waits at the highest point
Every villager in Millhaven can see the mill from their window. No one admits to having gone inside — and yet, every one of them can describe exactly what's up there.
Listen to enough of them, and you'll start to wonder which version to believe. Maybe none of them. Maybe all.
